“At last I see it, I feel it; I penetrate to the predestined purpose of my life. I am content.”

The Vision Board Exercise
Visual imagery is one of the most powerful tool available to create new awareness and behaviors. Spending just a few minutes each morning with your vision board will remind you of what you really care about and empower you to create each day intentionally - to bring awareness of your purpose into every interaction, at work, at home, at play, in your diet and exercise, spiritual practice, and community.
You’ll need about three hours for this exercise. Gather your supplies:
You’ll need a decent-sized workspace for the poster-board and magazines and piles of images. This could be your kitchen table or in the reading room at the library. If you’re doing this with friends, be sure to use a large space and table to accommodate everyone's posters and magazines.
Create a comfortable space without any disturbances. Consider playing some soothing music, lighting candles or burning some incense.
Set your intention. Bring your awareness to the reason why you are doing the Challenge. What is it specifically that you want to gain by finding your life’s purpose? Close your eyes and feel into this life you are creating. Once a feeling bubbles up, acknowledge it. If your Critic shows up, acknowledge it as well. Give your Critic permission to take a break for the next three hours. When you are clear with your intention, open your eyes.
Find your images. Turn through the pages of your magazines and pull out images that call to you. DO NOT CHOOSE WORDS, no matter how much you like or resonate with the word. An image that expresses that word is much more powerful than the word itself. Words will drop you back into your language and logic centers (left brain) and kill the creativity, curiosity and emergence of your vision board.
If your vision board is only images, it will keep you in this place of imagination, wonder and creativity. Once you’ve gone through all your magazines, pick three magazines that feel the most resonant and go through them again. Spend 90 minutes in the selection phase. (Please repeat this with the rest of the magazines if you have time.)
Sort and rank the images, from most to least compelling. Cut out the most compelling images, removing any words. Arrange the images on your poster-board. How you do this is totally up to you. You can create a wall-to-wall collage or leave blank space between images. There is no right or wrong way to make a vision board - unless you choose words;)
Glue the images to the posterboard and then hang it in a place you will see every day.
Congratulations! You are now in possession of a highly effective tool for patterning your consciousness with your life’s purpose! Consider making your vision board the central part of your morning purpose ritual. Another powerful way to leverage the benefit of the vision board is to take a picture of your vision board and use it as your home screen on your cell phone or screen saver on your computer, so that throughout the day you’ll be able to reconnect with your deepest sense of self and the direction of your life, your purpose.
