“Many persons have a wrong idea of what constitutes true happiness. It is not attained through self-gratification but through fidelity to a worthy purpose.”
Helen Keller (1880 - 1968)

Purpose Dream Team Conversation Exercise
Now that you have a Purpose Dream Team - five accountable and supportive people - you need to reach out to them to schedule a 30-minute face-to-face or phone conversation. But first, you have to prepare for this conversation and cultivate the ability to be enrolling.
This conversation has the following parts:
Part 1: Introduction
Tell them why you are calling: to share with them a new project and ask for their feedback. First, ask them what is going on with them, and next dig a layer or two deeper, reflecting what you’re hearing in what they share (e.g. “I hear that you are really committed to your son’s growth and development”). Acknowledge their commitment, strength, and accomplishments (e.g. “Thank you for being such a huge stand for enlightened parenting. Imagine if everyone paid as much attention to their child’s evolution?”) Then find an opportunity to share a relevant experience from your life, reaffirming that you two are connected in a unique way (e.g. “I try to do this with my daughter: We walk every Saturday to get groceries and I ask her to tell me everything she’s afraid of”).
Part 2: History
Share the world you are creating, some form of utopia where the problem you are solving is non-existent (e.g. If your project is to heal Islamophobia in the United States, the world you’re creating is one that doesn’t have Islamophobia, and is instead, a world of tolerance, love, unity, etc.).
You will likely be asked why you care about the project, so share your journey, e.g. 21-Day Purpose Challenge, what you wanted to get out of it, why you care about finding and living a life of purpose, and what you are creating now. Feel free to describe your experience with the 21-Day Purpose Challenge, what has changed in your outlook on your life, or what behaviors are now shifting. As preparation, write your top three 21-Day Purpose Challenge insights/breakthroughs here:
· Insight #1______________________
· Insight #2______________________
· Insight #3______________________
Part 3: Action
Tell them you are forming a Purpose Dream Team of people you greatly respect to support you in living your purpose in the world and that they are at the top of your list because of these three reasons: 1 __________, 2 _________, and 3 _________. Ask for their help in supporting your project. (fill these blanks in for each person)
Part 4: Enrollment
Enrollment begins with stating the context of your project. What is actually going in this area that you are working on? What is the predictable purposeless future if nothing shifts? Have one or two key statistics at the ready (e.g. “87% of humanity is disengaged at work and disconnected from purpose”) as well as one personal anecdote (e.g. “My sister didn’t know her purpose, thought her life was worthless and tried to commit suicide”). To prepare please write two statistics:
and one personal anecdote, connecting you to your project:
Part 5: Create the Bridge
Make the connection between your project and the need for it. Now that there is data in the conversation establishing that something needs addressing, establish that your project helps create the bridge between how things are now and where they need to go (e.g. “This project puts free purpose discovery education in everyone’s hands, and stops the plague of purposelessness that our species is suffering”).
Part 6: The Ask
Now ask them to play a role, such as:
Be sure to thank them for their support and tell them you’ll be in touch soon with a detailed Purpose Project Plan. Then email them your Purpose Project Plan.
Now make the first call to someone on your Dream Team - someone you are sure to get on the line TODAY!
